With 4.5 seconds to play in the Wings’ second consecutive road game against the Storm this past Sunday, Dallas guard Arike Ogunbowale received an inbounds pass on the left wing with her back toward the basket. Trailing by two, the 24-year-old—who last year, in only her second season, led the WNBA in scoring—remained calm, well aware of both where she was on the floor and how much time she had to create her own shot.
