Kelly, honored at halftime of Miami's basketball game Tuesday after his two-year fight with cancer, told the South Florida Sun Sentinel he understands the excitement surrounding the program.

“You want quality, character people and Mark Richt is going to be that," Kelly said. "He's all about that. You have to have guys that can play too.
