Texas coach Charlie Strong is heading into his third Red River Rivalry matchup with his third consecutive referendum on his job status.
SI.com reported that Strong is “very close” to losing job according to a school official, and that determination won’t be made until the end of the season.
That determination actually was made when Strong walked in the door. He’s been on the hot seat since Day 1, and despite his best record (2-2) heading into the Oklahoma game, the stakes are the same. What would a win do here?
“That would get some momentum back,” Strong said on the Big 12 teleconference Monday.
