The Houston Texans are adding more money back into the account.
According to KRPC2 Sports' Aaron Wilson, the Texans and wide receiver Christian Kirk have agreed on a new restructured contract for the 2025 season, thus freeing up over $12 million in cap space.
After being acquired from the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick, Kirk was originally due a $15.5 million base salary. According to Wilson, that's been converted into a $14 million signing bonus for accounting purposes while lowering his base salary to the league minimum of $1.
