Former Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Terrence Cody was sentenced to nine months in jail on animal cruelty charges Thursday, according to Alison Knezevich of the Baltimore Sun.
He faced up to two years after being convicted of multiple animal neglect charges after his dog, Taz, died of starvation.
According to CBS Baltimore, Cody, 27, was indicted last year on "two felony counts of aggravated animal cruelty, 10 misdemeanor counts of animal abuse and neglect, one count of possession of an alligator, one count of possession of marijuana and one count of possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia.
