The Tennessee Volunteers will honor late former women’s basketball coach Pat Summitt this season with helmet stickers, the team announced.
Vols coach Butch Jones said Saturday that the team will wear the stickers in honor of Summitt, who died on June 28 after battling Alzheimer’s.
The sticker features an encircled capital “P”, based on the way Summitt signed her name in her signature.
Summitt is the winningest college basketball coach of all time, men’s or women’s, with 1,098 victories and eight national titles in 38 seasons at Tennessee before she stepped down in 2012, a year after going public with her Alzheimer’s diagnosis.
