DeLong, a nose tackle in the NFL was selected in the first round of both the 1965 AFL and NFL drafts. He was selected with the sixth overall pick in both drafts, opting to play for the Chargers in the AFL.
The former Vol was a 1969 AFL All-Star and led the league with 17 sacks.
