TCU football coach Gary Patterson can add “recording artist” to his résumé.
Patterson took the extra time away from football caused by the coronavirus pandemic to focus a bit more on a longtime hobby: songwriting. Patterson told ESPN back in April that he used to write music back in his younger days and the recent downtime allowed him to revisit that hobby more seriously.
Patterson’s first single, “Take a Step Back,” was released over the weekend.
It’s a quick, catchy country song Patterson said he wrote “back in April” during “the peak” of the pandemic.
