Junior forward Theo Pinson was expected to move into a starting role this season for the Tar Heels, but that’s going to have to wait after he broke a bone in his foot, the school announced Friday.
Pinson is out indefinitely with a fractured fifth metatarsal in his right foot, but his father told The (Raleigh) News & Observer he could be out as long as 12 weeks.
"I'm so disappointed for Theo," UNC coach Roy Williams said in a statement. "No. 1, he's been playing well and he does so many positive things for our team.
