Martin Truex Jr.'s day did a 180 on Saturday, in what could be the most unusual event seen in the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
Just before taking the track for qualifying at Talladega, Truex's car was stopped by NASCAR inspectors. Components were removed from the car, forcing the No. 78 team to beat a hasty retreat to the shop for correction.
When Truex got rolling, however, nobody was faster.
