(Reuters) - Two men have been arrested on suspicion of wounding two University of California at Santa Barbara students in a shooting inside an apartment near the campus, authorities said on Tuesday.
Jose Guadalupe Gutierrez, 19, and James Joshua Taylor, 22, were arrested and booked on charges including attempted murder and robbery following the incident on Monday night at an Isla Vista residence, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office said.
Both suspects were hospitalized with injuries sustained during the incident, the sheriff's office said.
Two students at the residence sustained "what is being characterized as gunshot wounds," one of them wounded in the abdomen and the other in the upper chest, authorities said.
