Goodwin's release is surprising, as the former Kentucky star is considered a player with a lot of potential. A first-round pick by the Thunder in 2013, Goodwin has averaged 6.2 points in 14.5 minutes per game for his career, but saw his average go up to 8.9 points per game while playing 19.5 minutes per game in 2015-16.
