Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones says the team is aiming to finalize an extension for quarterback Dak Prescott before the start of the 2024 regular season.
"I mean, that's our goal," Jones said Wednesday, per Yahoo Sports' Jori Epstein.
That gives the Cowboys about three and a half weeks to work out a new deal for Prescott before Sept. 8, when the team hits the road for a Week 1 game against the Cleveland Browns.
Prescott has been participating in Cowboys training camp despite his expiring contract, although head coach Mike McCarthy said the veteran quarterback is not likely to play during the preseason.
