The Steph Effect is real.
We know Stephen Curry will launch from anywhere. Kids who watch Curry think that's cool and are now doing it themselves. Most kids, though, aren't as good as LaMelo Ball, the California prep whiz who's making fans swoon. Not all of them can call, and then drain, a midcourt shot the baller way Ball did.
Curry this week was asked what he thought about the youngster's Steph-ness. The response was part admiration, part mild jab at an attention-seeking player.
"That was some confidence there, the fact that he made it," Curry told reporters.
