Maarten Stekelenburg will ask Phil Jagielka to buy him dinner after the goalkeeper saved two penalties given away by the center back in Everton's 1-1 draw at Manchester City.
Jagielka tripped David Silva in the first half at the Etihad Stadium, but Kevin De Bruyne was unable to beat Stekelenburg from 12 yards.
Everton took the lead through a Romelu Lukaku goal on the counterattack and perhaps thought it was on its way to an impressive victory when the Dutch goalkeeper repelled Sergio Aguero's spot kick, the substitute having been clumsily felled by the unfortunate Jagielka.
Nolito then equalized to earn a point for City, but Everton's England international center back can at least feel relieved his errors did not cost Ronald Koeman's team directly, with former Ajax shot-stopper Stekelenburg the man he must thank.
