With the 83rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected Kaleb Johnson, a running back out of Iowa.
Johnson was considered one of the most underrated running backs in a loaded 2025 class, known for his powerful downhill style.
Johnson spent three seasons at Iowa and showed flashes of high-end potential — finishing with a stat line of 2,779 rushing yards and 30 rushing touchdowns.
The addition of Johnson strengthens a running back room that includes Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell — but was in need of fresh legs and a future lead back after Harris' departure in free agency.
