According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Steelers are finalizing a deal to turn their quarterbacks coach into their offensive coordinator.
Canada will replace Randy Fichtner, who held the role for past three seasons as part of a 13-year tenure with the Steelers.
Though the team also interviewed former Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson and Los Angeles Chargers quarterbacks coach Pep Hamilton for the opening, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported that the team was planning to hire from within the organization.
