Zach Mettenberger isn't done just yet.
The Steelers on Wednesday announced they have claimed the quarterback, after he was placed on waivers by the Chargers this week.
Pittsburgh placed third-string backup Bruce Gradkowski on the reserve/injured list with a hamstring tear suffered during camp to make room on the roster, indicating Mettenberger will fill that void left behind Ben Roethlisberger and Landry Jones.
Mettenberger, who was released by the Titans in May after being selected in the sixth round of the 2014 draft, finished 0-10 as a starter in Tennessee. The 25-year-old completed 2 of 8 passes for 22 yards with no touchdowns and one interception against his former team in his lone preseason appearance with San Diego.
