PITTSBURGH — Getting burned along the boards would typically be the worst thing that could happen to a guy like Justin Braun on a Stanley Cup Final gameday.
And that happened to the Sharks defenseman early in Game 1; Sidney Crosby beat him to set up the Penguins' second goal.
Not an easy thing to deal with — but for Braun, it had to pale in comparison to the death of his father-in-law, ex-Blackhawk and Flame forward Tom Lysiak, who died Monday at 63 after a battle with leukemia. Braun will play Game 2 here on Wednesday, then head to Atlanta for funeral services during the two-day break.
