Landmarks, skyscrapers and stadiums across the United States all lit up on Tuesday night.
The event, led by President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris in Washington D.C., was meant to honor the more than 400,000 people who have died in the country due to COVID-19.
Biden and Harris met at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and turned on 400 lights, each one representing 1,000 Americans who have died since the pandemic began.
Tonight, in Washington, D.C. and across the nation, we came together to honor the over 400,000 Americans we’ve lost to COVID-19.
