Sports of The Times: Buccaneers Offer Women a Modern N.F.L. Lesson Out of the ’50s

Well, this must be a relief for all the women out there who lose sleep during football season wondering, “What delicious snack can I whip up for this weekend’s N.F.L. games, and what is the appropriate (and possibly color-coordinated) handmade centerpiece to accompany it?”

The Buccaneers on Thursday announced a new initiative — borne of a social sensibility circa 1951 — that they said would cater to the N.F.L.’s female fans. The program, named RED, probably for the faces of those who are now having to answer for it, has suggestions for what it calls “culinary creations” and craft projects that might help meld a woman’s interests with her (unsophisticated) interest in football.
