Sports Briefing | Pro Basketball: Nuggets Trade Ty Lawson to Rockets

The Denver Nuggets traded point guard Ty Lawson to the Houston Rockets for a lottery-protected first-round pick in 2016 and cash considerations, along with Nick Johnson, Kostas Papanikolaou, Pablo Prigioni and Joey Dorsey.

The deal also sent a 2017 second-round pick to Houston. Lawson entered a 30-day residential alcohol treatment program last week after his second drunken driving arrest.

u25a0 Bill Cameron, the majority owner of the W.N.B.A.’s Tulsa Shock, announced that he planned to move the team to the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The team has struggled since relocating to Tulsa, Okla.
