Top-ranked Jordan Spieth defeated Victor Dubuisson, 5 and 4, to earn his second win of the week in the World Golf Championships match-play event in Austin, Tex., on Thursday.
Spieth never trailed, and his lone setback was a double bogey at the par-3 11th. He played 30 holes in his two victories, and needed only to halve his match Friday against Justin Thomas to reach the round of 16.
Jason Day ended any suspense about his back injury — first by showing up, then by landing his opening drive 12 feet from the cup on the 381-yard first hole.
