The American cyclist Tom Danielson tested positive for synthetic testosterone in an out-of-competition test last month and was immediately suspended by the Cannondale Garmin team.
Danielson, 36, a former teammate of Lance Armstrong’s, said in a post on Twitter that he did not take a banned substance.
As a result of the July 9 positive result from the United States Anti-Doping Agency, Danielson withdrew from the Tour of Utah, where he had been set to compete from Aug. 3 to Aug. 9.
