Kansas dismissed the sophomore cornerback Matthew Boateng for an undisclosed violation of team rules just three days before the Jayhawks were to open the season against South Dakota State. Boateng played in eight games as a freshman, making nine tackles with an interception and forced fumble.
u25a0 Brigham Young defensive back Michael Davis was charged with misdemeanor counts of assault and riot after a July dispute over a parking spot. The university spokesman Brett Pyne said B.Y.U. was aware of the citation. Davis’s status with the team has not changed.
