Two former Vanderbilt football players who had been convicted of raping an unconscious student are scheduled to be retried Nov. 30. The date came after a Nashville prosecutor told a judge that he wanted the former players, Brandon Vandenburg and Cory Batey, to be retried as quickly as possible. They were being held in jail last month, awaiting sentencing, when a judge set aside their guilty verdicts after it was revealed that the jury foreman had been a victim of statutory rape.
