Sports Briefing | Baseball: Matt Harvey Re-Signs With Mets

The Mets agreed to a contract with Matt Harvey for the 2016 season, avoiding arbitration.

Harvey will reportedly make $4.325 million this season, about seven times more than he made last season. In his first year back from Tommy John surgery, Harvey went 13-8 and posted a 2.71 E.R.A. in 29 regular-season games. In four playoff games, he went 2-0 with a 3.04 E.R.A.

The Mets also reached contract agreements and avoided arbitration with Ruben Tejada, Josh Edgin, Addison Reed and Carlos Torres.
