Carter Capps, who was expected to contend for the Miami Marlins’ closer’s job, has a torn ligament in his throwing elbow and was to have Tommy John surgery.

u25a0 A July 3 game between the Braves and the Marlins originally scheduled to be played at Turner Field in Atlanta will instead be played on the military base at Fort Bragg, N.C., at a 12,500-capacity ballpark to be built with funding from Major League Baseball and the players’ union.
