Carl Edwards ran a nearly flawless lap in the final round of qualifying to win the pole for Sunday's Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway.
The Joe Gibbs Racing driver posted a lap of 95.777 mph to beat out the 95.676 mph lap by local hero AJ Allmendinger, who hails from Los Gatos, Calif.

Martin Truex Jr., Kurt Busch and Kyle Larson rounded out the top five in the session.
