Arne Slot has strongly suggested that Alisson Becker will get the nod over Caoimhin Kelleher for Liverpool’s Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United at Wembley.
The Liverpool manager has not yet informed his goalkeepers who will start, but his comments suggest the decision is clear.
“They haven’t heard it themselves, but everyone that uses common sense [might guess],” Slot stated. “So, [look at] all of our line-ups, [you] might have an idea.”
Given that Alisson played in the first leg of the semi-final against Tottenham—only his second-ever Carabao Cup appearance—Slot appears set to trust his first-choice keeper for the final.
