Alexander Volkanovski went from featherweight prospect to being ready to challenge the top 15 after walking through his second straight UFC opponent on Saturday at UFC Auckland.
Volkanovski is incredibly well-rounded and his throrough beatdown on Saturday proved he's ready for a ranked opponent next. Much of the 145-pound top 15 is booked right now, but another fighter that everyone is excited about, Mirsad Bektic, happens to be available.
Bektic, ranked 14th in the division, is also a well-rounded featherweight and started his UFC career 4-0 before falling to veteran Darren Elkins.
This matchup would surely be a main-card worthy firefight with the winner taking a big step toward the top 10.
