Sidney Crosby officially ruled out for Penguins' opener

When the Pittsburgh Penguins raise their Stanley Cup banner Thursday night, Sidney Crosby will probably be in the building. He just won't be in uniform for the game.

The Penguins are set to celebrate their 2016 Stanley Cup win and then take on the Washington Capitals in their home opener Thursday night. After suffering a concussion in practice Friday, Crosby has officially been ruled out for the game by head coach Mike Sullivan.

Despite the injury, Crosby has already resumed skating and even participated with his teammates in Wednesday's practice after skating on his own for a bit.
