There's losing a trade, and then there's what the Diamondbacks are going through with Shelby Miller.
Miller was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Thursday after a horrible first half (2-9, 7.14 ERA). This was the guy Arizona wanted so much from the Braves last December, it gave up three significant pieces — center fielder Ender Inciarte, infield prospect Dansby Swanson and pitching prospect Aaron Blair — to get him.

Pundits and baseball people who said the trade was a huge overpay (D-backs GM Dave Stewart vigorously defended the move) can say, "Told you so," at least for now.
