New York Giants running back Shane Vereen hasn't played since Week 3 against the Washington Redskins as a result of a triceps injury, which required surgery on Sept. 28. He was placed on injured reserve on Sept. 27 but may still return this season.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported on Sunday morning that the Giants are targeting Vereen's return for Dec. 11 against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 14.
Injuries have come to define Vereen's NFL career more than his skills as a running back. He did play all 16 games in back-to-back seasons in 2014-15, but those are the only years in his six-year career that has happened.
