AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy greeted each other on the first tee box on Saturday afternoon in the final start time with a bro handshake and a mini hug. It was the way most 20-something men who play or are even remotely interested in sports greet one another.
It was also the last conversation they had all day.
We had warning of this, of course. Spieth said on Friday evening that he and McIlroy are not friends. They aren't enemies either, but they aren't renting houseboats off the coast of Florida for Thanksgiving.
