Sepp Blatter appeal decision to be announced Monday

The Court of Arbitration for Sport said it will announce the verdict in FIFA President Sepp Blatter's appeal against a six-year ban for unethical conduct on Monday.

Blatter denies authorizing a $2 million payment to former UEFA president Michel Platini in 2011, but says he will accept whatever punishment the court decides to hand down. Both men received six year bans last December.

Originally, Blatter and Platini received eight-year suspensions, but CAS cut Platini's ban to four years.

Blatter, who was FIFA's boss from 1998 to 2015 has said the payment was made for consultancy work, while Swiss authorities opened separate criminal proceedings into FIFA's bid process for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
