Ricardo Lockette's NFL career is over after five seasons.
The Seahawks receiver will announce his retirement from football during a Thursday afternoon press conference at the team facility in Renton, Wash.
Lockette, 29, suffered ligament damage in his neck during a game against the Cowboys last November. While on kick coverage, Lockette was hit by Cowboys safety Jeff Heath and immediately slumped to the turf at AT&T Stadium. After medical staff ran onto the field to check on him, Lockette was immobilized, placed onto a stretcher and taken to a Dallas-area hospital. Heath was penalized for the blindside hit.
