The South Carolina-Georgia game scheduled to be played Saturday night in Columbia appears unlikely to go on as planned, South Carolina governor Nikki Haley said Tuesday.
The state is bracing for the arrival of Hurricane Matthew, which made landfall in Haiti earlier Tuesday and is forecasted to impact the Southeast this weekend.
“It’s a complete decision based on the schools,” Haley said at a news conference. “As of now I can’t imagine that happening but certainly we’re going to continue to watch this. I would love nothing more than to see this take a right-hand turn and go out to sea.
