Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott helped the Salvation Army raise some money with his touchdown celebration on Sunday night.
Lt. Col. Ron Busroe of the Salvation Army told ESPN’s Darren Rovell that the organization saw a 61% increase in online donations from last Sunday and Monday thanks to Elliott’s leap into their kettle. They brought in $182,000 online in the 12 1/2 hours following the leap.
Elliott celebrated a two-yard touchdown run during the second quarter of the Cowboys’ 27–20 win over Tampa Bay on Sunday night by jumping into the red kettle, earning a 15-yard penalty for for unsportsmanlike conduct.
