Ryan "Ryback" Reeves was officially released by WWE after a months-long contract dispute, the company announced Monday.
Ryback had already wished WWE the best on their future endeavours on his Twitter account yesterday, so this was hardly unexpected. In fact, even before Ryback's contract was nearing expiration, he engaged the company in a war of words on Twitter and his own website, largely stemming from his somewhat misplaced idea that all wrestlers in all positions should be paid the same amount of money. Whether or not that was a smokescreen probably won't ever be known for certain, but regardless the WWE was offering him a significantly lowered contract during negotiations and Ryback was very publicly upset about it.
