Atlanta United is poised to acquire goalkeeper Sean Johnson from the Chicago Fire, MLSsoccer.com reports.
The 27-year-old is an Atlanta area native with 177 MLS appearances under his belt since being selected by the Fire in the fourth round of 2010 SuperDraft.
Capped five times by the U.S. national team, Johnson reportedly will be dealt to the 2017 expansion side in exchange for general allocation money.
News of the potential move comes as FourFourTwo reports that U.S. goalkeeper Brad Guzan — a Chicago area native — is considering a January return to MLS, with the Fire listed as one potential suitor.
