Ruben Amorim insists Marcus Rashford and Antony’s departures will benefit Manchester United in the future – despite becoming the club’s worst manager in Premier League history without the pair.
The United manager sanctioned Rashford and Antony’s loans in January and both have thrived at Aston Villa and Real Betis respectively, while Amorim is set to oversee the club’s lowest finish in the competition.
While Amorim did not bring in like-for-like replacements, the Portuguese says he is trying to “help the team” by changing dynamics, with performances in training and off-the-field behaviour cited as reasons for allowing players to leave.
