The Rangers have placed the slumping veteran forward Jarret Stoll on waivers.
Stoll has just one goal and two assists in 29 games, and had gone 18 games without a point.
Stoll is a 13-season N.H.L. veteran who won two Stanley Cup titles with the Los Angeles Kings before signing with the Rangers in free agency last summer.
Coach Alain Vigneault announced the decision after practice.
ADMONISHED IN ANAHEIM Ducks forward Nate Thompson was suspended for three games without pay for an illegal check to the head of Carolina defenseman Justin Faulk during a 5-1 loss to the Hurricanes last week.
