Roundup: Rangers Stop Leafs, but McDonagh Exits After Hit to Head

Derek Stepan scored with 1 minute 31 seconds remaining, and Derick Brassard added an empty-netter for his second goal of the game to seal the visiting Rangers’ 4-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night.

Stepan’s goal, on a one-timer, came 59 seconds after Colin Greening tied the score with his first goal as a member of the Leafs.

Toronto’s leading scorer, Leo Komarov, was ejected after elbowing the Rangers’ Ryan McDonagh in the head during the first period. McDonagh, who returned Wednesday night after missing four games because of a concussion, sat out the rest of Thursday’s game as a precaution, the team said.
