A women’s World Cup downhill competition was postponed Saturday because of heavy snow.
The weather in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, also jeopardized a comeback slalom race Monday for Mikaela Shiffrin of the United States, the Olympic and world champion, who was set to return to competition after a knee injury sidelined her in December.
The downhill race has been rescheduled for Sunday, in place of the combined event, which was canceled and will not be replaced this season.
“It will be very difficult, given that the snow is meant to continue falling,” the president of the organizing committee, Marius Roby, said Saturday.
