José Mourinho endured another setback at the start of Chelsea’s title defense as his 100th Premier League home game as the team’s manager ended in a 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
It was only the second time Chelsea had lost in the league at home under Mourinho, leaving Chelsea eight points behind first-place Manchester City.
It also was Palace Manager Alan Pardew’s third victory over Mourinho in less than two years, with the previous wins coming while he was in charge of Newcastle.
After winning at Chelsea for the first time since 1982, Palace has a five-point advantage on Chelsea after four games.
