Brazil’s national soccer association said on Saturday that it would appeal the four-game suspension that would exclude Neymar from the rest of the Copa América.
The association’s legal department “will file a counterpoint to Neymar’s sanction,” Dunga, the coach of the Brazilian men’s national team, said at a news conference in Santiago, Chile.
A disciplinary panel for Conmebol, the sport’s governing body in South America, ruled on Friday that Neymar would have to sit out four games for his conduct in a 1-0 loss to Colombia on Wednesday, when he was sent off after the final whistle.
