When the Chicago Bears and the Atlanta Falcons meet on the field at some point down the road, it could create an awkward situation for Roquan Smith and his family.
On Thursday night, Chicago took the former Georgia Bulldogs linebacker with the eighth overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft. That meant Smith would have to give up any previous allegiances to any other team—but his mom, Shaquana Thomas, is not quite ready to do the same.
The Georgia native admitted to TMZ Sports she will continue to cheer for her beloved Falcons (for now, at least) as well as the Bears:
Smith was made aware of her comments and responded by saying she would be won over soon enough.
