Last year, 2K Sports made a huge splash by introducing eight licensed colleges to NBA 2K16 and giving them a place in the game's MyCareer story mode. It was the first sign of college basketball in the six years following the cancellation of the standalone video games due to low sales and ongoing litigation.
With "NBA 2K17," there will be 10 licensed universities, and their involvement is expanding. Once again they'll play a role in the story mode, but 2K will also be selling "All-Time Great" rosters for those teams to use in Play Now mode.
