Roger Goodell says the NFL is committed to honoring its $30 million commitment for head trauma research by the National Institutes of Health in its entirety.
In a letter sent to leadership of all 32 teams, posted by ESPN's Adam Schefter, Goodell assures owners the league looks forward to "a productive and ongoing partnership with the NIH and others to advance our shared priorities, and to committing additional funding to medical research and engineering advances to enhance the safety of athletes at all levels."
Goodell's "commitment" doesn't specifically address a recent congressional report criticizing the NFL for improperly trying to influence NIH's research.
